2016-09-06 Success for Victorians in Australian GC tournaments in PerthIn the Gold and Silver Cups, John van der Touw was ranked second in the best of three block competition, but was defeated in a sudden death final and finished up third. In the ACA GC Singles Championships which followed, John won the Men's GC Singles title in a best-of-five final against Martin Clarke (WA), and in the Women's GC Singles title Gail Hopkins was runner up to Alison Sharpe (NSW). 2016-08-20 Bendigo Festival of Croquet flourishesOn Sunday 20 August the NDCA completed a very successful four day tournament, with two days of Golf Croquet followed by two days of Association. We were very pleased with the response, though sorry we could not accommodate all the would-be GC entrants. We had a lot of last year's players and were pleased also to see new ones.
Posted by: Kate Patrick Posted on: 2016-09-09 News Type: Golf GC Interstate Shield Day One: strong Victorian performancePlaying Tasmania in their first Test in the Australian Interstate Shield competition in Perth, the Victorian team won 37 out of 40 games in twenty best-of-two matches. The result was a clean sweep 17:0 in terms of matches. Next best performance on the first day of competition was from NSW. NSW beat South Australia 9 matches: 3, winning 26 games and losing 14. WA also won, against Queensland, 9 matches:5, winning 24 games and losing 16. Next Test in the series will be Victoria against NSW. Progressive results are being published on Croquetscores. 2016-09-08 GC Interstate Shield Day Two: Vics beat NSWIn the second day of play in the Interstate GC Shield in Perth, Victoria had another good day, winning 10:4 matches and 26:14 games in the Test against NSW. Victoria currently leads the results table with WA coming second. 2016-09-09 GC Interstate Shield Day Three: Vics squeak home against QldA very close Test match with Queensland today. The final result was a win to Victoria seven matches to six, with a difference of two games and one hoop. |
