Saturday 14th October our Club celebrated its 120th year since formation, making us the oldest club in the Gippsland Croquet Association--with 113 years at the Oak street site. In conjunction with Seniors Month we held our annual Open Day and the Drouin community was invited to come and try croquet. President Barbara Mitchell along with Baw Baw Shire Mayor Annemarie Mc Cabe and our Life Member Nannette Fry cut a birthday cake to commemorate this historical occasion for the Club. WOW what an achievement and still growing steadily.

Drouin Croquet Club has been a place where people have supported one another through good times and bad times. We formed just two years after Australia became an independent nation (can you imagine what THOSE conversations were like around the courts and club-room?!). Our members would have cared for each other as sons and daughters left for war, and would have joyously celebrated together if they returned. Well it's been and gone, 5th Feb. you missed out on another great day at Drouin Club why not come along next year. Odd socks were the order of the day, 4 games were played with partners drawn each game. Kelvin(Drouin) & Penny (Morwell) were tied on winning four games each with +12 hoops so off they went for a 3 hoop play off resulting in Penny claiming the 2023 Fici Folia Medal 2 hoops to 1.
Helen (Korumburra) cleaned up winning the special effort fruit & vegie box and the guessing competition. Mark Fox and some of the Drouin CFA 'fiery's' enjoyed afternoon tea with us and went away happily after receivng the Club's cheque for $500. With thanks to Bob Q's successful application our Club wishes to acknowledge a Community Grant of $2,200 received from Warragul Country Club, which has enabled us to purchase eight mallets for prospective members to trial.
