WCF Shield (interstate competition)
Victoria was an honourable fourth in the competition, losing narrowly to NSW in the playoff. We were very proud to have our coach John in the team. Results.

Congratulations
Two of Monash's members did very well in the 'Australia Day' tournament, held in August. John van der Touw won the cup - congratulations John - and Geoff Reilley won six of his nine games, including a win over a member of the state team.

Honour board unveiled
Bob Stensholt (MP for Burwood) and Merv Ericson (Manager, Bendigo Bank, Pinewood) provided donations that made the board possible.

Coaching for beginners
Beginners are offered a course of six lessons, run by arrangement with the coach, on Tuesdays between 9.30 am - 10.45 am. So far this year 20 people have completed this course and most are now members.

The next beginners' course will be held in spring, after the Come and Try day in seniors' week - Sunday 10th Oct., 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm.

Intermediate coaching
A short course will be offered to more experienced golf croquet players. It's expected to start mid-September, time and dates tba.

Morning tea for new members
We welcomed the 17 members who've joined this year at a morning tea on August 3rd. Two of them are experienced players who've moved into the area, and the rest came to us as beginners. After six weeks of lessons they joined in socia

Golf Croquet Bronze medal
Congratulations to John v., runner-up in the Bronze medal competition. This is an invitation event. The winner will represent Victoria in the national Gold/Silver competition in September.
