History

The Clubhouse was built in 1934 and as far as we can determine, was designed by Eric Nicholls, manager of the Melbourne Office and business partner of renowned Architect, Walter Burley Griffen. A new kitchen was installed at the end of 2007, a very big improvement on the original 1930s design.

We received a Commonwealth Community Water Grant in January 2008 for a Storm-water Harvesting Project. Stormwater from the main car park is pumped into two 30 000 litre tanks to supply the lawn irrigation as required. The top court was scarified, cored, laser levelled and top dressed in January 2010. The lower court was cored, scarified and fertilized early March 2010. Signifcant work on the clubhouse was organised by Boroodara Council in January /March 2010 as part of that Council's program of maintaining the longer term integrity of Council's total building infrastructure. We were very fortunate to be included in the 2009/2010 program. We now have the new ramp down to the lower court, new floor coverings and numerous other improvements to the beautiful old clubhouse building.

The Clubhouse is available for hire for celebratory functions or corporate bonding events (with fun type croquet play if required). Prices on application. The Club has a BYO licence for functions.
